Apply a dark brown eyeliner to the upper lid. Begin at the inner eyelid and work your way out toward the outer, stopping once the eyelid ends. Keep the line thin and as close to the lash line as possible.



Apply a light neutral color to the entire eyelid, from the lash line to the brow bone. This shade should be lighter than your skin color.


Apply a slightly darker neutral eyeshadow to the corner of the eye. Blend this color into the eyelid to create a more seamless look.


Apply two to three layers of dark brown mascara. Keep the mascara lighter on the inner lashes and thicker on the outer to make the eyes appear bigger.

    1. Only apply foundation where you need it. This will reduce your exposure to potentially irritating or harmful ingredients.
    2. Curl your lashes. This does more to wake up your look than a pile of products, says Petty, since curling lashes makes your eyes appear wider. Scrivo suggests starting at the base of your lashes, curling in several steps as you inch the curler outward toward the lash ends.

    3. Invest in a professional brow shaping. Clean, arched brows emphasize the eyes and cheekbones for a naturally polished look, even without makeup. A professional can determine the best brow shape for your face, and you can maintain that shape with occasional tweezing. When tweezing at home, use a brow brush to groom the hairs up, then out, which lets you see strays.
    4. On most days, stick to more neutral, sheer colors for lips. They won't look as obvious as they wear off, reducing your need to constantly reapply. Finally, a touch of sheer or rosy gloss applied to the center of your lips will reflect light and make them appear fuller.

Here are some tips to keep your skin healthy, make your makeup last longer and keep you looking fresh:
    • Let your skin breathe and use sheer makeup that serve more than one purposes. It is important to keep the humidity locked in as sweating dries skin out. So, lock away your foundation for the season and use a light moisturizer with sun block instead.
    • Instead of using foundation to cover up freckles, use translucent tinted powder to blot the skin and add color to it.
    • Go for the nude natural look for the lips. Even for evening parties, it is preferable to use loose shimmer powder on arms and neck and a soft gloss on lips.
    • Sensual and bronze skin and natural look is the look for summers, so work on it.
    • Eyes should be done simply. Use neutral and soft shimmery eye shadow on lids and work on lashes instead.
    • Curl your lashes and use glossy black shade on them to make them appear longer and your eyes bigger. Use only a very fine line with eyeliner.
    • Cheek sticks and crème eye colors are easy to apply and last longer in summer.

    Eye makeup needs more skill than the rest of the face, as eyes are often the focus when we look at a person. Here are some tips to make it easier for you:
    • Eyeliner is meant to add depth to eyes and give definition to lash line. To do so, hold the eyelid skin taut with fingertips of one hand and draw as fine a line as you can very close to the lash line with the other hand. Your hands should be steady for the purpose.
    • For the soft smoky look, smudge the edge of the line with the smear end of the eyeliner pencil.
    • For added natural beauty look, extend a very fine line to the innermost part of the upper lid.
    • Lining the lower lashes add the dramatic effect to your looks. You can do so by adding tiny dots to lash roots and a fine line on the outer half of the lower lash line.
    • Liquid eyeliners give more glamorous look but require more skill too.
    • Use slate, blue, grey and plum eye shadows for brown eyes, pink, salmon, mauve and brownish pink for green eyes and brown, camel and taupe shades for blue eyes.
    • Curling lashes open up your eyes. Do so by squeezing them with a lash curler from lash line to three fourth way toward tips.
    • Stick to dark colored mascaras such as navy blue or plum for they look more natural.
    • Apply two coats of mascara, sweeping the wand from roots to ends. Wiggle the wand a little as you move upwards to detach the lashes and make them stand out.

    • Lip-gloss can be applied on lipstick or used alone for a nude look.
    • Gloss makes lips appear fuller, so women with thicker lips should avoid using it
